Code of Conduct and Dress Code

Golf Etiquette

Please show consideration to others on the golf course.  Show courtesy and sportsmanship and conduct yourself in a disciplined manner at all times.  Always consider the safety of other golfers, staff and yourself on the course.  Play at a good pace.  Look after the course.  Rake the bunkers, repair divots, pitch marks on the green and damage caused by shoes.  Any serious breaches of etiquette will be brought to the attention of the Board.

Dress Code - General Guidance

The Club seeks to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which visitors can enjoy the course and clubhouse facilities. Visitors are all advised that a reasonable standard of dress is required at all times.

Golf Course/Practice area/Putting green


Not acceptable

Golf trousers, tailored shorts, most branded golf attire

Plus fours

Tailored shorts must be worn with:

  • White ankle length socks
  • Shoe liners of any colour
  • Knee length socks of any colour

Men’s shirts must have a collar and sleeves and  be tucked into the waistband at all times Roll neck shirts are acceptable.

Recognised golf shoes must be worn, soft spikes preferred

Denims, track suits, combat trousers and shorts that are not tailored

Beach shorts

Shorts and trousers with large patch pockets or frayed hems

Long socks rolled down

Trousers tucked into socks

T shirts with or without prominent logos and football or rugby replica shirts

Sandals for men, trainers and other shoes of a similar nature

Headgear that is worn back to front

Please do not use mobile phones unless emergency and do not distract fellow golfers with your phone

Club House-Mixed bar, Oak Room, Dining Room


Not acceptable

Smart casual dress

Golf shoes prohibited apart from accessing the bar for the purpose of purchasing drinks to be consumed on the terrace. 

Golf attire (see golf section) that is clean and fresh but shorts are NOT acceptable in the Dining Room.

Formal shoes and socks

Dinners and Golf Functions – The dress code will be determined by the Golf Club and guidance will be provided, however a jacket and tie will be required in the Dining Room after 7.00pm.

Mobile phone must be on silent and used only in the area below the stairs of the clubhouse

See guidance under golf course, plus the following:-

Bomber style jackets, waterproof clothing, coats

Long socks pulled down

Any headgear

Wet ripped or dirty clothes

Car Park - Changing of clothes and shoes is not allowed on the car park.

The General Manager, Professional, Club Steward, Board Members or other Club Members will politely remind visitors when the dress code is transgressed.  At all times, visitors will be permitted to wear a respectable form of smart casual dress in all areas of the clubhouse except when an event specifies a different dress code.
